These just may be the best and healthiest wings out there. Free of sugar, but full of spice and crispiness, you won’t ever want to use another wings recipe again!
The first time I had these wings, it felt like everything was right in the world. There was nothing I would have rather been doing than eating these crispy, spicy, perfectly cooked wings. Since then, whenever I’ve shared this recipe with family and friends, everyone raves about the wings. I’ve joked that I could probably get a man to marry me, simply by making him these wings.
And that’s the other great thing about these wings, they’re really just so simple to make and require literally less than 5 minutes of prep work. It’s pretty much as easy as putting the wings on a parchment lined baking sheet, sprinkling them with salt and pepper and then placing them in the oven.
I originally got this recipe from the cookbook Paleo Perfected by America’s Test Kitchen. As I fell in love with the recipe, naturally, I’ve made these chicken wings dozens of times, and with each time I’ve made them, I’ve refined my process a bit, enough to where it has evolved away from their original recipe. I’ve also made these wings whole30 friendly by removing the sweetener from their original recipe, and let me tell you, the wings are just as good, if not better, without the sugar.
The recipe requires that you cook the wings at a fairly high temperature, which results in crispy wings on the outside, with tender meat on the inside. It’s almost like magic, the way they come out so perfectly. These wings would be perfect for hosting a game-day party… or really any type of party for that matter. They’re simple, healthy, and guaranteed to be a success. I also like having them for dinner with a side of roasted veggies and sweet potato fries. However you end up eating these though, you can’t go wrong!
